The Climate Project Foundation has announced a new initiative under the Green Campus Programme - ‘Students Climate Action Conference’ for 2024 aiming at the students from different schools of South Asia. The conference aims to empower students from classes 8th to 12th from South Asia by helping them identify and understand local climate change issues. By providing them with the necessary knowledge and tools, the conference will enable these students to conduct in-depth research, deepening their understanding of the issues. This research will ultimately lead them to develop innovative solutions to address and resolve the local climate challenges they face. The conference, featuring six expert sessions spread over a month, has been meticulously structured to provide comprehensive support to the students. These expert-led sessions will engage both teachers and students, with speakers guiding students in developing essential skills such as conducting interviews, creating questionnaires, and systematically compiling their data and insights.

Mission

The conference aims to unite students across South Asia to address environmental challenges on their campuses. It promotes relationship-building and collaboration, allowing students to work together on climate action and share innovative solutions from their regions. The main aim of this conference is to gather students from around South Asia to learn and share knowledge about climate change impacts by speaking to the community leaders, surrounding teachers, neighbors and understand the concept of climate change through their experiences.
